Hi everyone. Let's decorate with Kathi for 4th of July.
We'll start with this blank canvas. A bay window.
We'll start with this blank canvas. A bay window.
First we'll hang a flag across the top in the wide part of the window and tie it back with a pretty ribbon.
I added a lamp in the center and the lampshade is done with strips of muslin tied onto the frame.
Next I hung on each side window, a hand painted creation from my sister, Susan Anhder, at On the left is lady liberty and on the right a wooden flag. barnchixx.blogspot.com

The next step is adding plants. I placed an artificial green plant up close to the lamp(to bring some natural color in as well as hiding the lamp cord). Then another plant on the far left to bring in the red. It is an artificial geranium plant I found at Taipan Trading co. In Utah. I tied a matching ribbon around the base.
Finally, I placed a pillow that says thankful and tied a gingham checked ribbon around the back of a pillow( the plain side) to finish up this project. You can use similar things that you have around the house to decorate your own space for this holiday. The only thing I bought new was the geranium plant and thought I would put it outside on my porch after the holiday. Hope this tutorial gave you some ideas for your own space. Until next time, happy decorating!
